WHO WE ARE
We advocate an end to the operation of puppy mills, pet store animal sales, and the neglect and abuse of these precious dogs. It is the goal of the BTCC Rescue Program to educate the public about Boston Terriers by providing information about this special breed.
BTCCR does not have paid staff. Our volunteers provide the funds for dog food, fostering and miscellaneous supplies from our own pockets. While we try to cover veterinary expenses from our adoption donations, extraordinary medical needs require that we fundraise continually. Your financial donation will be gratefully received and used only for rescue-related expenses. While we are a not-for-profit group made up entirely of volunteers, we regret that donations to Boston Terrier Club of Canada Rescue are not tax deductible as charitable contributions at this time.
ADOPTING A FRIEND
If you are interested in one of our available dogs please email us for an application. We will review your application and discuss it with the dog's foster home to ensure that the dog is a good match for you and your lifestyle. If your application is approved then you will be contacted for further discussion and information. A home visit and short interview is required before an adoption can be finalized. An adoption contract and an adoption fee is the final step in our adoption process. We are always available for post adoption support and our "welcome home" policy ensures that our dogs are always welcome to come back to us at any point in their lifetime in the unlikely event of an adopter not being able to keep the dog.
All BTCC Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered before leaving our care, absolutely no exceptions!
We do not operate an animal shelter and therefore we can not accommodate visitors. We use a network of foster homes to care for our rescued dogs. We are better able to assess our dogs' temperaments and behaviours in a home setting. All dogs are vet checked and health care/vaccinations are brought up to date before a dog leaves our care.
